•Spherical or oval body shape, usually with two long tentacles
•Nerve net
•No excretory, respiratory or circulatory system
•No sessile or benthic stage
•All are hermaphroditic
•All are marine

•Biradially symmetrical, with an oral-aboral body axis













•8 vertical comb rows of cilia
•colloblasts

•Diploblastic, with ectoderm and endoderm. Cellular mesenchyme that gives rise to the musculature.
